In the Wake of Helene and Milton

Helene came ashore on September 26 and less than two weeks later on October 9 Milton took aim at the Gulf Coast. While Naples did not receive a direct hit from either hurricane, the damaging effects of high winds, heavy rains, and storm surge are evident at the beach.

Trees and brush are stripped of their leaves or the foliage has turned brown,

sand has pushed inland, off the beach,

natural debris has washed up on the beach,
property restoration continues,

leaving the beach much narrower than usual.

It is truly remarkable what the force of nature can do.
