The plan was to leave Sudbury on Sunday. But it was not to be. A message from a friend (thanks Leo), alerted us to a storm in our intended path. Weather and news reports told the tale of a deadly storm that saw seven states to declare states of emergency. While Northern Ohio was sunny with bare and dry roads, the southern part of the state showed evidence of a major weather event. The bluegrass hills of Kentucky were white with a blanket of snow. And road-side rocks rained icicles. Trees and shrubs bowed down under the weight of ice. In a span of a couple hours we passed 5 cars off the road, glued in place by snow and ice. Seeing this we were happy to have delayed our journey, delighted to spend a little extra time with Peter and Eve and grateful for safe driving conditions.
