Blue Mountains and Beyond

Today we enjoyed a day trip to the Blue Mountains with a brief stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park.

Kangaroo feeding was a treat for both us and the kangaroos. They were so friendly.

Koalas need to work hard to derive nutrients from eucalyptus leaves so they spend a large part of their day sleeping.

The Tasmanian Devil showed us his teeth.

And we got a hug from a larger than life koala.
The Blue Mountains showed off their characteristic terpenoid blue, which results from the evaporation of oils from the many eucalyptus trees.

The limestone Three Sisters are all that remain after erosion claimed four of the original Seven Sisters.
