A Day in LA

We put our 24 hour lay over in LA to good use with a day long tour of the area.

The day began with a stop at  El Puebla de Nuestra Senora La Reina de Los Angeles de Porciuncula the birth place of this town. First settled in 1781 this area was under Mexican rule until 1848 with the signing of the Treaty of Guadeloupe Hildago.

The Mexican influence remains in El Pueblo.
The first building in Los Angeles was green Plaza Firehouse. Imagine this horse drawn fire truck pulling up to a fire.

Since those early days LA has grown into a city with more than 13 million inhabitants.
As seen from the Griffith Observatory, air pollution is a big concern in this city.

Highlights of our adventure include
The Cryto Arena with figures of various sports stars.

Venice Beach
